Can I take an Uber to and from the airport?

Uber drivers can drop you off at the airport at departures which is directly in front of the ticket counters.  However upon arrival to Puerto Vallarta Uber drivers cannot pick you up at the airport.  If you turn left out of the airport doors and continue to the far curb you will see a pedestrian bridge that crosses over the highway.  Uber drivers can pick you up on the far side of the street.  The ramp for the pedestrian bridge is very steep, so this would not be a good option for anyone with mobility issues or large heavy luggage.
