La Cucaracha is calling performers who love original work, juicy characters, sharp satire, and stories that actually have something to say. Join ACT2 PV Theater for the Mexican Premiere of a new Two-Act Stage Play. Show Dates are March 8, 15 & 22 – 5:00 PM.

Written by J. Lynn Jackson and directed by Alfonso Lopez, La Cucaracha offers meaty roles, big laughs, real emotion, and fearless storytelling. Performed in English. Teen & adult roles available.

Cast of Characters
All speak fluent English. All speak some Spanish except Sam. Aerialist skills would be a plus for June bugs and/or Gloria, but not required.

🎭 Salma: A champion sky-diving green June bug (adult/f). Mexican, athletic, determined, fun, dances some.
🎭 Lila: A wise, bug-loving human (10-12/f). Mexican, smart, kind, playful, curious, athletic.
🎭 Cláudia: Lila’s mother; a nature-loving human (35+/f). Mexican, scientist, patient, empowering.
🎭 Sam: A bug-hating human (35+/m). USA, sly, clueless, orange predator, bigot.
🎭 Chuy: Lila’s father; a good-natured human (35+/m). Mexican, hip, patient, guitarist/singer w Gloria?
🎭 Mónica: Sam’s fiancé; Cláudia’s best human(35+/f). Grieving, vulnerable then strong, sings some.
🎭 Gael: Salma’s partner; a horny red June bug (adult/m). Mexican, athletic, fun, fluid.
🎭 Diego: Salma’s cousin; a loud golden June bug (adult/m). Mexican, athletic, wrestler, dances some.
🎭 Ricky:* Diego’s partner; a flashy silver June bug (adult/m). Puerto Rican, athletic, wrestler, dances some.
🎭 Dragon:* A spiritual blue dragonfly (adult). An older wise Shaman (60+/m).
🎭 Fred:* Mónica’s father; a life-loving human (60+/m). Grieving widower/father, gentle, comforting.
🎭 Gloria: A spirit, a Catrina, Lila’s godmother (ageless/f). Mexican, a doctor, guitarist/singer w Chuy
