57th Anniversary of the Folk Ballet Atemoztli
The Atemoztli Ballet of Puerto Vallarta celebrates 57 years of tradition, culture and history with a gala performance to be held on Sunday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the Vallarta Theater.
Founded in 1967, the group will offer a gala performance to mark its 57th anniversary, including regional dances and scenes from the states of Guerrero, Veracruz and Jalisco, as well as a special appearance by the Huichol folkloric ballet from Durango, led by maestro Armando Vázquez Hinojosa.
As part of the gala, the Atemoztli Ballet will also pay a posthumous tribute to its founder, Ernesto Navarro Lozano, who dedicated his life to promoting Mexican folklore internationally.
The Atemoztli Ballet gala performance is free of charge, with a ticket. For those who wish to attend, tickets will be handed out at the Municipal Tourism Office. Capacity is limited to 900 people.
