Edgar Sánchez is a distinguished multidisciplinary artist from Puerto Vallarta, whose contributions to cabaret theater, nightlife, and media have made him a central figure in the local and national arts scene. From a young age, Edgar demonstrated a passion for the performing arts, beginning his theatrical journey at 15. He refined his craft under the mentorship of renowned acting masters such as Wilebaldo López, Raúl Zermeño, Arturo Ortega, Daniel Vives, Cesar Enríquez, and Conchi Leon. These formative experiences laid the foundation for a career that would span over two decades and touch multiple facets of the entertainment industry.

Edgar’s early years saw him participating in over ten theater productions, touring cities across Mexico, including Mazatlan, Baja California, Tepic, Guadalajara, and Lagos de Moreno. His performances, characterized by a unique blend of charisma and dramatic flair, earned him recognition and paved the way for his future endeavors.

In 2006, Edgar’s creative vision led him to open STEREO Bar in Puerto Vallarta, which quickly became a beloved hotspot in the city’s vibrant nightlife scene. Under his direction, STEREO Bar was recognized as the Best Alternative Bar by Vallarta Lifestyles magazine. Edgar used this platform to introduce innovative cabaret shows and nightlife events, including the groundbreaking Madonnarama event presented by Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone. He also brought to the stage performances by iconic figures like La Supermana, the Vampiro sisters, Oswaldo Calderón, Manigüis, Nacha la Macha, and musical producer Luis Miguelez, with whom Edgar also appeared in a music video.

Beyond the nightlife scene, Edgar expanded his influence to the digital realm. In 2012, he launched the internet platform program “Canal G,” which featured the magazine program ¡eraPOPera! that was nominated for Best New Program. This endeavor showcased his ability to adapt and innovate, particularly during the pandemic when he successfully transitioned the project to YouTube.

Edgar’s dedication to the LGBTQ+ community is evident in his work with Vallarta Pride, where he successfully produced the main party events in 2015 and 2016, cementing his role as a cultural leader in the city. His cabaret theater works, including Divas de Rancho, Mexican Jill Pawer, Un amor en mis tiempos de, Una noche con Bibiana, Fiesta en el infierno, and Gala invernal, have been particularly acclaimed, with the latter three featuring his beloved Spanish diva character, Miss Bibi.

Edgar has also demonstrated his talents in television, co-hosting FamoSOS alongside Ismael Rossi on local TVMar for three years. His versatility as a producer was highlighted in 2023-2024, when he produced The Cher Show, Swan Lake, and another edition of Madonnarama at Act2PV Theater, with the talented Alejandra Matus and choreographer Luis Roberto Pérez.

With over 25 years in the arts, Edgar Sánchez is not just an entertainer but also an activist and a relentless creator, constantly enhancing his skills through courses in acting, cabaret, and playwriting. Currently, he continues to captivate audiences with his drag character Miss Bibi, performing at private parties, hosting events, and delivering shows across Mexico. Looking ahead, Edgar is preparing to launch a podcast in 2024, adding yet another dimension to his ever-evolving career.
