Artist Spotlight: Angeloo 🎤
Angel Gerardo Covarrubias Cabrera, known by his stage name Angeloo, is an exceptional young singer from Puerto Vallarta whose passion for music began at age five. Inspired by the musical world of Fortnite, he taught himself to sing “Love Scenario” by iKon in Korean, marking the start of his artistic journey.
After a brief focus on taekwondo, Angeloo returned to music at nine, performing on buses with his father during a challenging time for their family. Those early experiences shaped his confidence and stage presence, eventually leading to performances at Incanto, where he impressed audiences with songs by Etta James, Lady Gaga, and Mozart.
His dedication soon paid off when he won the 2024 So You Think You Can Rise? competition, followed by first place in the 2025 La Voz de las Niñas y los Niños de Zapopan, a prestigious showcase of Jalisco’s best young talent. The victory brought new recognition and opportunities, including a landmark performance at the Benito Juárez Auditorium during Fiestas de Octubre, where he sang before more than 10,000 people, opening for Joss Favela.
Angeloo has also performed at La Catrina Cantina, Nacho Daddy, and the Puerto Vallarta Gay Pride Parade. Versatile across genres and languages—from opera and rock to R&B and Spanish music—he draws inspiration from artists like Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, Luis Miguel, and Juan Gabriel. His debut single, “Superstar,” is available on all major streaming platforms.
