Bow Wow Gala: A Night of Paws, Purpose, and Pure Magic

Each year, Puerto Vallarta’s most compassionate hearts gather for one extraordinary evening — a night where laughter, music, and generosity combine to make miracles happen. The Bow Wow Gala is not just an event; it’s a movement of love, resilience, and hope. On Saturday, November 22, 2025, The Sula Society invites guests to celebrate another year of life-changing rescue work at a dazzling new venue: Santo Coyote in Marina Vallarta.

From 6:00 PM until the early hours of Sunday morning, guests will experience a feast for the senses — exquisite cuisine, world-class entertainment, vibrant art, and, most importantly, a community united by compassion for over 300 dogs in The Sula Society’s care.

A New Chapter at Santo Coyote

This year marks a milestone for the Bow Wow Gala with a move to Santo Coyote, Vallarta’s newest culinary and cultural destination — and the event’s proud Title Sponsor. With more than 25 years of legacy across Guadalajara and beyond, Santo Coyote has long been known for its ability to blend artistry, mysticism, and flavor into unforgettable dining experiences. Its expansion into Puerto Vallarta has created waves of excitement, and The Sula Society couldn’t imagine a better partner for this year’s celebration.

“Santo Coyote represents everything we want this Gala to be — creative, soulful, and deeply rooted in Mexican culture,” says Lizzy Kutynec, Director of Gala Fundraising for The Sula Society. “Their team understands the heart of our mission and the beauty of the community we serve.”

Guests can look forward to an evening of culinary artistry — from gourmet canapés to a specially curated dinner menu featuring Santo Coyote’s most celebrated dishes, followed by a dessert finale as vibrant as Vallarta itself. Wine, sponsored by Iron Gate, will accompany the meal, and Fortaleza Tequila Cantina returns to raise the bar with handcrafted signature cocktails that perfectly capture the spirit of Mexico.

An Evening of Elegance, Entertainment, and Heart

The Bow Wow Gala has built a reputation for offering more than just a dinner — it’s an experience. This year’s lineup of entertainment promises to keep guests engaged, inspired, and on their feet.

Your Hosts: Leave It To Cleavage

Leading the night with laughter are Diana and Karen, the dynamic Canadian comedy duo behind Leave It To Cleavage. Known for their glamorous retro charm and quick-witted improv, they bring a perfect mix of humor and heart to the stage. Frequently compared to a cross between Whose Line Is It Anyway and Leave It to Beaver, the pair are masters of audience engagement, ensuring that every moment of the Gala sparkles with joy and spontaneity.

Effie Passero: The Voice That Captivated Millions

When powerhouse vocalist and pianist Effie Passero takes the stage, the room listens. A finalist on American Idol, Effie’s voice combines classical precision with raw soul, bridging genres with breathtaking ease. Whether belting a show-stopping ballad or delivering an intimate, piano-driven performance, she brings emotion to every note — reminding everyone in attendance why they came together in the first place: love, compassion, and hope.

Eva & Mau Jiménez: Puerto Vallarta’s Musical Power Duo

Few performers embody Vallarta’s vibrant energy like Eva and Mau Jiménez, the brother-sister duo known for their high-octane performances and undeniable chemistry. Together, they’ll lead guests into the night with a blend of pop-rock favorites, acoustic charm, and infectious joy. Their magnetic energy ensures the dance floor will stay full long after dinner ends.

John Curley: Auctioneer Extraordinaire

Back by popular demand, Emmy Award–winning auctioneer John Curley will host the live auction — an event highlight every year. With over three decades of experience as a TV host, writer, and radio personality, John transforms the art of bidding into pure entertainment. His humor, heart, and lightning-fast wit consistently inspire record-breaking generosity. As Lizzy Kutynec notes, “John doesn’t just raise bids — he raises spirits. He reminds us why we’re all here.”

DJ Dan McNeil: Music, Light, and Magic

To close out the evening, DJ Dan McNeil of Hi Tech Productions will deliver an electrifying mix of music, sound, and lighting. Known for transforming events across Canada into unforgettable experiences, Dan’s mastery of atmosphere will ensure the night’s final hours pulse with rhythm, laughter, and celebration.

The Heart of the Gala: Giving Back to Those Who Can’t Speak for Themselves

At its core, the Bow Wow Gala is about one thing — saving lives. Every ticket purchased, every auction bid placed, and every dollar donated goes directly to supporting The Sula Society’s mission: rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need.

Founded in Puerto Vallarta, The Sula Society began as a small, volunteer-driven effort to respond to emergencies on the streets. Today, it’s grown into a full-scale rescue organization that cares for more than 300 dogs at any given time, offering medical care, nutrition, love, and the chance at a forever home.

“This event is the heartbeat of our fundraising,” explains Kutynec. “Because we’re entirely community-supported, the Gala determines how many lives we can save each year. The funds raised allow us to say ‘yes’ when a dog needs emergency surgery or specialized care. Without it, we simply couldn’t continue.”

One particularly powerful example is Pepino, a French bulldog cruelly thrown from a moving car. Thanks to donations from previous Bow Wow Galas, The Sula Society was able to provide immediate surgery and rehabilitation. Today, Pepino is thriving in his forever home — a living reminder that compassion changes outcomes.

“Pepino’s story is just one of hundreds,” says Kutynec. “Each dog we save represents the love and generosity that this event inspires.”

A Celebration of Resilience and Renewal

The Gala’s theme — “A Celebration of Resilience” — honors both the spirit of the coyote and the dogs The Sula Society rescues. In Mexican folklore, the coyote symbolizes adaptability, wisdom, and guidance — qualities that mirror the organization’s mission and the strength of the animals it serves.

“Santo Coyote was a natural choice for this year’s theme,” says Kutynec. “Just as the coyote is a guardian and guide, The Sula Society leads the way in giving dogs a second chance.”

Ways to Participate and Make an Impact

Even those unable to attend in person can take part in the Bow Wow Gala’s mission. The online auction will feature luxury travel experiences, fine art, dining packages, and one-of-a-kind items — all open to bidders around the world. It’s a way to join the celebration virtually, give back, and take home something meaningful.

For those attending in person, live and silent auctions promise excitement and opportunity. All bids will be made in USD, with payments processed in Mexican Pesos at the current exchange rate. Valet parking will be available, and cocktail attire is encouraged — a chance for guests to dress up and celebrate in true Vallarta style.

Join the Rescue Champions Movement

Beyond the Gala, The Sula Society invites supporters to make a lasting difference through its Monthly Giving Challenge — a program designed to create sustainable support year-round. By becoming a Rescue Champion, donors can choose from tiers such as Guardian, Lifesaver, or Hero, each contributing to daily essentials like food, medicine, and shelter for the rescue’s dogs.

“Monthly giving allows us to plan ahead and ensure stability,” says Kutynec. “It’s not just about a single night — it’s about creating ongoing change.”

A Global Community of Compassion

From Canada to Mexico, the reach of The Sula Society continues to expand. The organization now has a growing network of volunteers across North America who foster, coordinate adoptions, and organize local fundraising initiatives. In November 2025, the group will also launch its first sterilization clinic, a major step toward reducing overpopulation and long-term suffering among stray dogs in Puerto Vallarta.

“It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come,” reflects Kutynec. “What started with a few volunteers has evolved into a community that spans countries. Every person who donates, fosters, or attends the Gala is part of that story.”

A Night to Remember, A Mission to Believe In

When the lights dim on November 22nd and the first notes of music fill the air, something magical will happen. Guests will laugh, bid, dine, and dance — but they’ll also be changing lives with every gesture of generosity.

The Bow Wow Gala isn’t just another social event; it’s a testament to what’s possible when compassion becomes action. It’s a night where glamour meets purpose, where laughter turns into love, and where every wagging tail tells a story of hope restored.

So put on your finest attire, gather your friends, and prepare for a night you’ll never forget — because at the 2025 Bow Wow Gala, every toast, every bid, and every beat of music helps give a dog a second chance at life.

Join us for a night that celebrates paws, purpose, and the power of community. You’ll leave inspired — and with a heart full of love.
