Grupo Folclórico Municipal Xiutla: 30th Anniversary
Puerto Vallarta‘s Xiutla Municipal Folkloric Group is celebrating the first 30 years of artistic career with a special presentation on Sunday, July 21st at 5:00 pm at Teatro Vallarta.
The talented children and teenagers of Xiutla Municipal Folkloric Group will present a colorful display of regional dances from different states of Mexico.
The Xiutla ballet is considered to be an authentic tradition in Puerto Vallarta. For 30 years, under the artistic direction of Professor Enrique Barrios y Limón, it has been the training ground for several generations of local dancers.
Throughout its history, Xiutla (a Nahuatl word that means “the place where the grass grows”) has represented Puerto Vallarta with great success on various stages in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
