Swap the typical tourist trail for a hands-on creative escape in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or have never touched clay in your life, this workshop at a local artist cooperative offers a relaxed, social environment to craft something truly personal.
The Experience:
Forget the gift shops—this is your chance to make your own handmade souvenir. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine (or Prosecco) to kick off a fun, low-pressure evening of making.
Guided by an artist, you will learn the fundamental clay techniques needed to shape, smooth, and style your own pottery bowls. This isn’t just a demonstration; it’s a tactile, making, relaxing, having fun, session designed to be approachable and rewarding.
What’s Included:
The Materials:
You’ll have access to 8 pounds (3.5 kilograms) of professional-grade clay and a selection of basic glazes.
The Project:
You will craft three custom dipping or salsa bowls, perfect for serving “goodies” back home.
Personalized Attention:
The workshop is kept to a small group, ensuring you get one-on-one guidance from your instructor.
The Vibe:
A fun, easygoing atmosphere that’s even better when shared with a friend.
Important Details
Because authentic ceramics require time and heat to become durable, please keep the following in mind:
Kiln Firing:
Your creations aren’t ready to go immediately. They must be fired in the studio kiln to harden and cured.
Pickup:
Your finished bowls will be available for pickup at the studio on a scheduled date after the workshop. Be sure to plan your visit early in your trip so they are ready before you head home! (approx 5 days after the class)
