The best months to fish in Puerto Vallarta really depend on what kind of fishing you’re after. If you’re looking for big game like marlin, sailfish, and tuna, the ideal time is from around June through December, with August to November being especially active. These warmer months bring in a lot of the trophy fish offshore.

Spring, from March to May, is also a good time, particularly for inshore fishing. You’ll find species like roosterfish, snapper, and jack crevalle in the bay and along the coast. It’s a bit calmer, but still productive.
