Where is the Puerto Vallarta letters sign?

The Puerto Vallarta letters sign is prominently located on the Malecón, the city’s iconic boardwalk. Specifically, it stands beside the renowned “El Caballito” (The Boy on the Seahorse) sculpture by Rafael Zamarripa, offering a picturesque spot for visitors to capture memorable photos.

Originally unveiled during World Tourism Day events in 2016, the sign features colorful letters that spell out “Puerto Vallarta.”

Each letter is adorned with designs inspired by the art of Manuel Lepe Macedo, a celebrated local artist known for his naïve-style depictions of the city’s traditions and landscapes.

In 2024, the sign underwent a restoration led by Marcela Lepe Quiroz, Manuel Lepe’s daughter, and her nephew, artist Luis Lepe. This refurbishment aimed to revitalize the sign’s vibrant colors and intricate details, ensuring it continues to serve as a symbol of Puerto Vallarta’s rich artistic heritage.
