I Have Feet Again!

Yesterday morning, I went to Stan Wagner’s office on Lazaro Cardenas to have a Neurofeedback session. A lot of friends are using this modality to fix/change/encourage/undo/relearn various things in their lives. I was simply curious, had no immediate or remote concerns. After a fairly lengthy discussion with Stan and filling out a form or two, I was installed in an oversized, super comfy chair, hooked up with electrodes and headphones. The music began, and maybe five minutes in, I kicked off my flip flops and propped my feet on the coffee table. I started flexing my feet and wiggling my toes. Why? No idea because I haven’t really felt my feet for years due to neuropathy. Twenty-four hours later, I STILL have feet! I can feel that my floor is colder in some spots than others – a miracle. The change had to have been the Neurofeedback. I still have some numbness, but it has reduced to less than half! I plan to do another session to see if more numbness will disappear. If you have an issue, go and see Stan; it might be the ticket. It doesn’t – can’t – hurt you: actually very relaxing. Thanks, Stan, for being so kind and gentle – what a difference 33 minutes can make!

Master storyteller Jamie Brickhouse and I met up over mango smoothies and a box of dark chocolates for a late lunch at Vallarta Factory yesterday afternoon. Jamie has only two more shows at Art Vallarta – this Friday and Saturday. If you love spoken word, you are in for a great treat. Jamie treads the dark alleys of his Texas childhood and has some meaty questions about his daddy. And then there’s Jamie’s half-brother, Ronny. Just go!

Jamie and I met again at Bar Frida’s for Out & About magazine’s Gay Mixer. Over 250 people packed the bar and spilled out into the street and covered the sidewalk, including the lovely Jack Bartholet, star of CabaRAGE, at The Palm. He was hard to miss in his pink suit in a crowd of wanna be Irish wearing green for Saint Paddy’s Day.

From there, to Open Mic at Nacho Daddy, and the first of many fundraisers to get Angeloo and his dad from here to Los Angeles for America’s Got Talent. Kevin Feltner and Rob Dornan of Vallarta Calendar challenged the room by pledging to match 5,000 pesos, and Angeloo left with just over 22,000 pesos. Our Angel was in fine voice, dishing up two Dimash songs like nursery rhymes. Ada Vox sang, among others, accompanied by Bing Young on piano, while Richard Lucas, looking trim and fit, emceed in Gouda Gabor‘s stead.

Scrabble this afternoon at The Q (Happy Hour all day!) starting at 12:30, Bingo fundraiser for Colina Spay and Neuter Clinic at 4 pm at Nacho Daddy, followed by the sold-out Kim Kuzma’s 20th anniversary of singing her heart out at The Palm Cabaret at 7 pm. See you here, there, and everywhere, From Here.
