Artist Spotlight: Maru Prado Conti 🎤
Maru Prado Conti is an artist from Rosario, Argentina, now living in Puerto Vallarta for more than three years, where she produces and stars in Lady Gaga tribute shows, which have been running since March 2021. She co-founded and directs the “TEB New York” program, helping artists from Latin America and Spain train in musical theater, singing, dancing, and music in New York. This program, started in January 2017, includes 2 to 3 trips per year for immersive 15-day training sessions.
Maru began performing at 19, touring Argentina with a musical. Her first major professional role was in the Broadway show Beauty and the Beast in Buenos Aires at age 23. She has a strong background in musical theater, having trained in the discipline from the age of 17, alongside university music studies and continuous training in singing, dancing, and acting. Maru has performed in Spain at Med Playa Team hotels in Benidorm (2019), and at Port Aventura park in Salou (2016). She also produced and performed in Embrujadas de amor (2012) and starred in Che, el musical Argentino (2009).
Maru will start a new season of her This is Gaga tribute on October 12, 2024, and will switch to performing at Coco’s Cabaret every Friday at 9:30 p.m. starting in November. Deeply inspired by Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, she also has a deep love for Broadway, frequently traveling to New York to see as many shows as possible to fuel her passion for learning and artistic growth. In her free time, Maru enjoys watching sunsets on the beach with her puppy, Dorothy, and is dedicated to creating art from a place of love and vulnerability, inspired by those who pursue their dreams through personal growth.
