Artist Spotlight: Miana Melendez 🎤 🎭 💃
Miana Melendez has become a vibrant part of Puerto Vallarta’s thriving singing community since moving to town. She regularly performs at local Open Mic Nights, drawing inspiration from legends like Alicia Keys, Adele, and Sade. Her journey back into performing began after auditioning for the late Danny Minini at Act2PV for MAMMA MIA!, reigniting her passion for singing and the stage.
In March 2024, Miana took the stage as a vocalist for Lady Zen’s The Greene + Gaye Show at The Palm Cabaret, delivering music from icons Al Greene and Marvin Gaye with a full live band.
Since 2021, Miana has been a leading vocalist in Supreme, a high-energy show celebrating the best of Motown and the Girl Groups of the Golden Era. The show features hits from The Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, Donna Summer, and Tina Turner, complete with intricate harmonies, synchronized choreography, and stunning costume changes.
From 2022 to 2023, Miana was an original member of It’s Britney B!tch!, where she performed cameos as Madonna, in “Me Against the Music,” and Rihanna’s “S&M” remix, even recreating the iconic MTV VMA performance of Madonna and Britney.
Between 2019 and 2021, Miana was a featured vocalist in Marc Lopez’s Crooners Show, performing classics like “Me and Mrs. Jones,” “Who Loves You Pretty Baby,” and “Suspicious Minds.”
An original cast member of Puerto Vallarta’s hit production of Mamma Mia!, Miana initially played the role of Ali, one of Sophie’s friends in “Honey Honey.” In 2022, she was recast as Tanya, performing the solo “Does Your Mother Know.”
Originally from Chicago, Miana’s love for singing and performing started young. She was active in her middle school chorus and drama clubs, where she developed her skills in improv and theater. She has also modeled at the Chicago Cultural Center twice and participated in a fashion show at DePaul University.
