Artist Spotlight: Stephanie Wright Watts 🎤 ðŸŽ
Stephanie Wright Watts, originally from the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, has been gracing the stage with her powerful voice and emotive performances for many years. With early roots in church choirs and high school show choir, her passion for music and performance has only deepened throughout her journey.
After relocating from the East Coast to Park City, Utah, post-college, Stephanie spent several years immersed in the local music scene, singing with the popular band Funk Schwa. Fourteen years ago, she moved to Puerto Vallarta, where she quickly became a beloved figure in the local performing arts community.
Stephanie’s talents were first showcased in Puerto Vallarta with Act2PV Theater’s debut show, A Chorus Line. Since then, she has continued to captivate audiences with her versatility, starring in productions like Cinderella and Equus, as well as tribute shows featuring music from icons such as Carole King and Fleetwood Mac.
To hone her craft, Stephanie has studied at the prestigious Stella Adler School of Acting and recently completed Tu Experiencia Broadway, a two-week musical theater intensive workshop in New York City, where she learned directly from Broadway professionals.
Currently, Stephanie stars as Donna Sheridan in Act2PV’s smash hit Mamma Mia!, set to open its sixth season in January. Additionally, she will be performing in Act2PV’s Greatest Show on Earth, returning to Casa Karma’s Red Room this October. Stephanie is also in the process of developing her own show, which she hopes to premiere in early 2025, showcasing her talent as both a creator and performer.
Outside of the spotlight, Stephanie is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She actively supports the local charity RISE and participates as a coach and judge for the annual So You Think You Can RISE competition, inspiring others through her love of music and performance.
Known for her emotional depth, vocal power, and versatility, Stephanie Wright Watts continues to captivate audiences, proving she is not just a performer but a true storyteller at heart.
