Artist Spotlight: Stolie 🎤 🎹

Originally from Chicago, Stolie is a talented multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who has called Puerto Vallarta her most-time home for the past decade. Her journey to Mexico began in 2015 after studying Spanish in Guadalajara, where her love for the language, Puerto Vallarta’s sunny weather, vibrant community, and dynamic entertainment scene inspired her to stay.

Often performing as a one-woman band, Stolie captivates audiences with her guitar and looping pedals, creating richly layered soundscapes. Over the years, she’s also contributed to numerous collaborative musical projects, showcasing her versatility and passion for music.

Beyond her musical pursuits, Stolie is a trailblazer in fostering bilingualism and literacy. She founded La BiB, a bilingual children’s library in Puerto Vallarta, in 2023. The library serves as a community hub, providing access to books in English, Spanish, and bilingual editions for young readers. In March 2025, she will release her first bilingual children’s book, Keep Your Paws to Yourself, adapted from her Super Stolie song, “Little Black Bear.”

As a mother to her 4-year-old Mexican-American daughter, Stolie finds joy in blending her love for music and language with the journey of motherhood. Whether performing on stage, inspiring young readers, or creating a nurturing environment for her daughter, Stolie continues to celebrate life with creativity, connection, and a commitment to building bridges between cultures.
