‘Sweet Dreams’ Come to Life at Coco Cabaret

Puerto Vallarta is about to witness a groundbreaking musical tribute as the electrifying Delilah Beaucoup presents Sweet Dreams: Annie Lennox/Eurythmics Experience at Coco Cabaret. This highly anticipated show, running for two exclusive nights on April 18 and 25, promises to be a spectacular homage to one of the most iconic voices of the 1980s, Annie Lennox, and the legendary duo, the Eurythmics.

For the first time in Puerto Vallarta, audiences will experience a high-energy tribute featuring 12 of Lennox’s most memorable hits, dazzling choreography with four dynamic dancers, and stunning visuals that will transport fans back to the golden era of synth-pop. Delilah Beaucoup, known for her powerful stage presence and rich alto voice, is ready to channel her lifelong muse in a performance that is both personal and extraordinary.

Delilah Beaucoup, originally from Seattle, Washington, has built a reputation as a force in the worlds of jazz, cabaret, and theatrical performances. Her journey to bringing this tribute to life has been a deeply personal one, inspired by her enduring admiration for Annie Lennox. “The first time I heard ‘Sweet Dreams’ was when I was 16, and I instantly fell in love with the Eurythmics,” Delilah shares. “Their look, vibe, and sound profoundly influenced me as an artist. I have dreamed for years of creating this tribute, and now, with my incredible friend and director, Jordon Carnegie, it’s finally happening. I am beyond grateful.” This show is not just about the music—it’s a full concert-style experience. From the mesmerizing harmonies and synth-driven anthems to the androgynous fashion statements that defined Lennox’s career, Sweet Dreams will celebrate every facet of the icon’s artistry.

Like any ambitious production, crafting Sweet Dreams has come with its share of challenges. “Coordinating everyone’s schedules has been the biggest hurdle,” Delilah admits. “This show features a cast of ten, including dancers, directors, and musicians. It’s been a juggling act, but the end result is going to be absolutely worth it.” Selecting the perfect setlist was another major undertaking. “I started by listing all my favorite Annie Lennox and Eurythmics songs, then spent last summer testing them with karaoke tracks to see which fit my voice best. Jordon and I then refined the list to the 12 songs that would create the most compelling experience.”

Annie Lennox is more than just a musical inspiration for Delilah—she is a guiding force in her artistic journey. “She is one of the greatest inspirations of my life,” Delilah says. “Musician, songwriter, rebel, activist, gender-bender, icon. I could never quite relate to the super-girly pop stars. I’ve always been drawn to strong, multi-layered artists like Annie, Lady Gaga, Sinead O’Connor, and Lady Blackbird. They have this raw, unapologetic energy that speaks to me.” Beyond her music, Lennox’s fearless advocacy for social justice and gender expression has left a lasting impression on Delilah. “She has always pushed boundaries—both musically and socially—in a way that is graceful and powerful. That’s something I deeply admire.”

More than just a nostalgic trip, Sweet Dreams aims to uplift and inspire audiences. “The 80s was such a fun and experimental time for music, fashion, and identity,” Delilah explains. “My audience will remember that era fondly. The world is so dark and angry right now, so we wanted to create something that elevates people—something that reminds them of their own power and fills them with hope.” And will there be surprises? “Oh yes! Many!” Delilah teases. “But they wouldn’t be surprises if I told you.”

Preparing for this show has deepened Delilah’s appreciation for Lennox’s musical genius. “Her music and harmony structures are more complex than you might think. The Eurythmics were pioneers in layering synth sounds for an orchestral effect. This show is incredibly challenging for me vocally, and I’m pushing myself beyond what I thought were my limits. There are times in rehearsal where I cry because it’s such a vulnerable space to be in. But if you want to create something extraordinary, you have to push past your comfort zone.” For an artist known for her expertise in jazz, stepping into the tribute world is a thrilling shift. “I love jazz, and it will always be part of me, but I also love big, glamorous productions. A few years ago, I created a Bette Midler tribute at Act2PV, which was such a blast. When Coco Cabaret gave me the chance to create my dream show—this Annie Lennox tribute—I jumped at it. I love working with artists who have a ‘work hard, dazzle harder’ mentality.”

The venue choice was intentional. “I wanted a stage that would provide a concert-like atmosphere with a big sound but also allow for more intimate moments,” Delilah explains. “Coco is perfect. The staff and management have been so supportive, and Mark Rome is a joy to work with. Everyone loves the 80s, Annie Lennox, and the Eurythmics. I think this show is going to be a hit!”

Coco Cabaret is Puerto Vallarta’s newest state-of-the-art venue, located just one block off all the action in the Romantic Zone. With its soaring ceilings, incredible lighting and sound systems, and three LED video screens, the space is designed for immersive entertainment experiences. The stylish mezzanine balcony offers a unique perspective, allowing guests to take in the full spectacle of performances while enjoying an upscale ambiance. Every detail of Coco Cabaret is curated to provide audiences with a high-caliber experience, making it the perfect setting for Delilah’s electrifying tribute.

Annie Lennox and the Eurythmics defined an era. From their groundbreaking 1983 hit “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” to genre-blending tracks like “Here Comes the Rain Again,” “Would I Lie to You?, and “There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart),” their music remains as fresh and relevant as ever. Lennox’s striking androgynous look and powerful vocals helped redefine pop music, while her work as an activist has had a lasting impact beyond the stage. In 2022, the Eurythmics were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing their place in music history.

Delilah Beaucoup’s Sweet Dreams tribute captures that legacy in a way that is fresh, exciting, and deeply personal. With only two performances scheduled at Coco Cabaret, fans of 80s music, theatrical performances, and powerhouse vocals won’t want to miss this show. Mark your calendars for April 18 and 25 at 8 PM. Sweet Dreams awaits—you don’t want to miss this thrilling experience!
